Hastings Public Schools recently received notification from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation, that they were named a Best Community for Music Education.
The NAMM Foundation recognizes HPS for its outstanding commitment to music education with this BCME designation. HPS joins 376 districts across the country in receiving this prestigious distinction for 2014. HPS is one of only two schools in Nebraska to be recognized this year.
In its 15th year, Best Communities for Music Education affirms school districts that have demonstrated exceptional efforts toward maintaining music education as part of the schools’ core curriculum.
Camp Invention inspires creativity and inventive thinking during the weeklong summer program. Led by HPS teachers, elementary school children will be immersed into fun-filled, exciting, activities that reinvent summer fun. Throughout the week, children work together to solve real-world challenges that prepare them for the 21st century. Whether they are creating an epic, insect-themed pinball machine or dismantling broken devices, participants learn new approaches to everyday problems!

May 13th SNOW CONE DAY!
Please be aware of students walking and riding bikes as you drop off or pick up children. Also we continue to ask that you go in a clockwise direction around the school for dropping off or picking up. We will be putting out the cones to limit the driving on Cedar Street to only go south.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
