Alcott Kindergarten Orientation

Alcott Kindergarten Orientation
Thursday, April 9th
6:30-7:30 PM

Incoming Kindergarteners will need to be 5 years on or before July 31st.
If your child turns 5 years old between August 1st and October 15th, you will need to apply for Early Kindergarten Entrance.
When coming to Kindergarten Orientation please bring a copy of your childs immunization records and birth certificate. You can begin registering 2015/2016 Kindergarten students at the Alcott Office.

Students will be dismissed from school at 11:15,
If students want a school lunch one will be provided with their school lunch account.
Students need to arrive at the track between 11:45-12:00, transportation is NOT provided. Bleachers are reserved for students and staff. Younger siblings will not be dismissed to attend. Students cannot leave the track before school's regular dismissal time of 3:20 PM.

 
March Madness

BOX TOPS MARCH MADNESS

We will be celebrating March Madness, box tops style!  We will be having a friendly competition between classrooms to see which classroom “team” is the overall winner of the tournament!  We will be collecting box tops from Thursday March 19 – April 7 for this special contest.  The “team” that has the highest collected box top “score” will be the champion and enjoy a basketball themed prize with their classmates /teammates!  So lace up your sneakers and get your scissors ready to clip them box tops and let’s have an awesome “March Madness of Box Tops”!

Please make sure your child is dressed warmly!
Students go outside for recess, they only stay inside
on the days that the temperature or wind chill is
0 Degrees or below! So please send them to school with coats, hats, and gloves!

If you are in need of a coat, hat, gloves, or even a backpack for you child, please contact one of the following:

Our Lost and Found Box is getting full. We have coats, sweatshirts, gloves, and mittens. If your child is missing an item, please have them check the box. Also, it is available in the hallway by the office if parents would like to look through and find a missing piece of clothing.

School Closings

All decisions to cancel school due to weather are made at the Administration Office and given to the news media by 7:00 A.M. If we experience wintry weather, please listen to local radio or television in the morning. If the weather should worsen during the day, any decision to dismiss early would be made at the district level, so please listen to local media for any announcements.

At the November School Board meeting, the board approved a bid from Farris Construction of Hastings (approximately $4.15 million) for the Watson portion of the Elementary School Improvement Project.

At the February School Board meeting, the board approved a bid from Central Contracting of Kearney (approximately $3.098 million) for the Hawthorne portion of the Elementary School Improvement Project.
